Mercury mTab


After Reliance Infocomm launched its affordable 3G tablet at Rs. 12999/- the market has received another shock by another low priced or say cheap tablet from Kobian,

Mercury mTab. It is priced at Rs. 9499 sporting 7-inch cpacitive WVGA TFT display and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. If it really has a 1.2GHz triple core processor, this may turn out to be quite a powerful tablet under the sub-10,000 INR range.

For 3G connectivity you have to depend upon external USB 3G dongle and adding the cost for that it comes near about Reliance one.

The tablet also includes 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, microSD card with support for up to 32GB, WiFi connectivity, optional 3G and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

ACER Iconia A100/101

The Iconia Tab A100 is the first 7-inch Android Honeycomb tablet on offer from Acer.

Specs reveal that the Acer Iconia Tab A101 / A101 has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, and it is powered by the dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 platform, with 512MB of DDR2 RAM, 8GB of storage, front 2MP and rear 5MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, MicroSD card reader, micro USB ports and a HDMI output.

It has a 1530mAh 11.3W battery, weighs 450g, and has a thickness of 13.11mm.

Tablet is equiped with Acer's Clearfi to connect automatically to your home network, mobiles etc.

It will be priced around Rs. 20000/- in India.


Nokia N9-00


Nokia just announced N9-00, which is a MeeGo OS, v1.2 Harmattan phone. This is interesting as Nokia is going all the way to Windows Phone OS.

N9 hardware is catch up to the competition offerings, display is 3.9 inch AMOLED, 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU, PowerVR SGX530 GPU, with TI OMAP 3630 chipset. Dimensions are 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm. GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth are basic features in smartphones these days.

Camera 8 megapixel autofocus with Carl Zeiss optics and Dual LED flash.

GSMArena guys got the taste of iOS 5.0 from apple and here are their first impressions

  • Contacts lack a swipe-to-delete or mass delete feature

Nokia X1.00


Nokia launches the Nokia X1-00, a brand new mobile phone aimed at music lovers. This device is intended to retail at less than €35 and offer the maximum boom-per-buck with special hardware features for users in growth markets.

The big speaker at back is the prominent feature of this phone. The phone runs on series 30 operating system, so it’s got the basics need, with a souped-up music player app, calendar, clock and calculator, pre-loaded games and so forth.

It measures 112.2 x 47.3 x 16mm and weighs 91g.

CDMA iPhone 4 for Verizon USA


Verizon has announced the apples iPhone 4 for CDMA to hit their network on February 10,2011. The phone carries the same specs as its GSM-version - the Retina display, 1GHz Apple A4 processor, 512MB RAM, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, 16GB or 32GB internal storage and various connectivity options. There won't be LTE support.

Antenna is redesigned to work with CDMA networks and is divided into slightly different parts.
